Rally Utah?

Just in case you didn't already hear... Rally Utah in Cedar City didn't happen. Its hard to tell exactly, a lot of he said she said going on, but some one dropped the ball big time. As far as I'm concerned Cedar City "Festival City USA" is really missing out on a great chance to bring more people/money into their city. Hopefully the event organizers won't completely give up on Utah and we will have a rally in the future.

July Update

Event up dates:
June 27th- We made the URG event at the Jordan OHV. This was the first time out with the Mx-3. This was definitely a learning experience. The car handled well. It was great off the line and rotated well around turns. The biggest issue was tires. While I wasn't slipping all over the place a good set of either snow or gravel tires could make a huge difference. As the day progressed and some corners got chewed up I could feel the car really struggling for grip.

Build Update:
Harness bar was ordered, waiting on delivery
Radiator was cracked at the last event, ordering new brass and copper radiator from performance radiator
KYB struts installed to replace 20+ year old original struts

Lets build

We've been working on the MX-3 and by working I mean pulling out all the nasty old fabrics and stinky seats. Now its time to start working the other direction and get building. We are hoping to make it to as many events as possible this year. With your help I'm sure we can put together a great car!

Early January Update

Its a been a while so time for an update on the MX-3.

Most of the inside has been removed. Whats left are the front seats, safety equipment and dash. So far its been fun getting to know whats where inside the car.

The exterior still needs some work for sure, but what good is a car that looks great but doesn't roll? We did have a little excitement a week or so back. I had the genius idea to take some snowy back roads home from work. Thing went great for about 15 miles, then in mile 16 I took a left 90 degree turn a little to fast. With all the fresh snow on the ground and the ice pack underneath I ended up with some awesome under-steer and sliding off the road. Went right through a nice 2-3 foot ditch and got lucky and made it back onto the road.

After the car still drove surprisingly well. The only thing that felt off was a bad steering wheel wobble. I hoped it was just a tire weight knocked off or a wheel packed with ice. Turned out I had bent the wheel. So a trip to the junk yard later and the MX-3 is rolling again.

Hopefully we will have more exciting updates in the future but that's it for now.
